A Christmas musical the whole family will enjoy. Funny, entertaining, and heartfelt. The Jorgenson family has been planning their Christmas vacation to Jamaica for months! So much anticipation! So much excitement! They are carefully packed and ready to go only to get to the airport with a missing passport. When all the later flights are sold out, the Jorgenson family find themselves on an unexpected journey. They shipped their presents to Jamaica and Airbnbed their house! With nowhere to go and Christmas on the brink of disaster, they decide to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa . . .at the nursing home!! Many humorous and heart-felt stories are shared as the Jorgenson Family rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas.

The score: The Ultimate Christmas Vacation uses approachable vocal ranges and catchy, but easy to learn melodies.
The script: The dialogue is quick and witty. The music has flavors from many different genres including blues, reggae, and ballet. This musical is easy to stage and easy to costume.
Expandable cast size: Eight soloists and as many student in the chorus as needed. The chorus can double as extras in scenes, toys from the toystore, and elderly people at a nursing home. Every student in this musical will feel included with this chorus doubling as they will have costumes and be on stage for the particular scene they are in and learn the dance for that scene. Unlike many musicals where the chorus only stands on risers and is not in costume, every student gets to come alive in this production.
The Ultimate Christmas Vacation has a relevant theme in our fast-paced world where families often do not spend the quality time they would like to together. With humor and fun, it teaches themes that the holidays are not about what we receive, but the people we spend them with. This musical will have your audience dancing, laughing, and crying.

The Drama Resource Kit contains what props are needed for each scene, the set for each scene, cast list with character descriptions, set building suggestions, letters to parents, including the announcement of the show, list of items needed, permission letters for after school practice, audition sign-up, audition lines, and practice schedules.
Rehearsal tracks provide the recording of all voices and accompaniment for students to learn the melodies. There are 10 separate MP3 files which help focus your rehearsal time. The files can easily be shared with students and production members.
Performance tracks provide the musical accompaniment suitable for the live performance. The accompaniment is without voices in the solo sections but a background chorus is present for ensemble sections to help fill out the sound and keep students on track.
